England stormed to victory in the Round of 16 after defeating Colombia following an emphatic penalty shoot out.
All eyes are on the squad as they are preparing to take down Sweden in Saturday’s Quarter Final match.
However, eagle-eyed viewers spotted an unfortunate blunder on the ITV breakfast show during the chat.
The strap-line read: “Saturday’s match will be England’s first semi-final appearance since 1990.”
But fans know England are about to face Sweden in the quarter finals, not the semis.
However, Good Morning Britain was correct about the semi final fact.
It didn’t stop viewers flock to Twitter to call out the blunder.
One wrote: “@GMB no it’s not a semi final on Saturday…”
Another added: “#GarethSouthgateWould contact @GMB to politely let them know they had made a slight error, and that they shouldn’t worry about it because everyone makes mistakes.”
A third said: “@GMB I think you’ve got ahead of yourselves GMB we are not in the Semi finals (yet!).”
A fourth posted: “Is Saturday our first semi appearance??”
Earlier in the week, Piers Morgan was shamed by an ex-England played before the Colombia match.
Sol Campbell appeared on Good Morning Britain ahead of England’s big World Cup knockout.
The former defender gave his opinion on the country’s upcoming clash with Colombia and seems he thinks they can go all the way.
He told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: “I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for England. Most of the World Cup winners are on the other side [of the draw].
But the chat took a different turn, after revealing he was once snubbed by Piers at the Chelsea Flower Show earlier this year.
Sol scolded Piers for not saying hello in a seriously awkward moment.
The ITV host apologised profusely, adding: “Next time I see you, I will man up and come and see you and shake your hand.”
Piers reflected on the encounter after the interview came to a close, telling Susanna: “Blimey, I must have flipped him off at the Flower Show – that cut deep.
“He did not like me snubbing him at the Rhododendrons!”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
